OSO Blu Principal Consultant

Hello, I am Kari Lavoie and I am the principal consultant with OSO-Blu Consulting. I have extensive experience researching, developing and implementing policy and governance models for all levels of government, not for profits, and corporations, both big and small.

I have also had many years of education at the undergraduate and graduate levels. I am currently pursuing my MBA at the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary.

Who I Am

I am a native Calgarian and have lived here all my life, with the exception of a couple of years in the bustling metropolis of Drumheller.

I have worked in the energy industry for over 25 years and during my undergraduate degree I had the opportunity to work at all levels of government either as an intern or as a consultant. Prior to returning to University Calgary to pursue my MBA, I was fortunate enough to work on the policy transformation project that helped produce ATCO’s Code of Ethics document, How We Do Business. My work on that project included building the governance and document review structure for the Code of Ethics document and doing the preliminary implementation of the training materials for ATCO’s North American operations.

I come from a long line of strong and inspirational women. My mother returned to university at a later age to pursue her masters degree in Psychology and she is a huge reason why I was motivated to achieve my own graduate degree in Business Administration. Sadly she has been taken by early onset Alzheimers disease but I carry her heart in my heart.

Still don’t believe that I have tenacity in my blood? Here’s a picture of my paternal grandmother bottle feeding a badger.
